Privacy
GPS Status collects nothing. Your location stays on your device.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
Your location
The app asks for your location while you use it, to show your position, its accuracy and the direction you face, and to work out which satellites are above you. All of this is done on your device. Your location is not stored and is not sent to us or to anyone else.
The one connection the app makes
On iPhone and iPad: when you are online, the app downloads the published orbits of the navigation satellites from CelesTrak, at most once every few days. The request is the same for everyone and holds nothing about you or where you are. Like any website, CelesTrak sees the internet address the request comes from.
On Android: none. The app reads the satellites from your phone's own receiver, has no permission to use the internet, and keeps nothing on your phone.
What stays on your device
- The copy of the satellite orbits last downloaded
It is kept in the app's own storage and is removed when you delete the app.
This website
The website uses no cookies and no analytics. Like any website, its host keeps ordinary server logs.
Changes
If a later version of the app changes any of this, this page will say so before that version is released. Last updated 13 October 2026.
